Make it Green

This week at the City Crafter Challenge Blog it is a color challenge and you guessed it the color is green

.
my handmade flower is made from tea paper (sent to me by my blogger friend Marion from Germany)
visit her at http://majos-art.blogspot.com/

I cut the flowers out with my sixxix,  lightly sprayed it with gold spray paint, then went over it with some green chalk to add a little more color.  I added two of my handmade pins, which I hope will be ready to sell on my site this week or the first of next week.  They are available in a variety of colors..............................

Cottage Comfort

This weeks challenge for
The Shabby Tea Room is cottage comfort, using the colors for inspiration this is what I came up with

This is a closeup of the pins I made which will be available on my online store to open soon

My Craft Room

PLEASE SCROLL DOWN FOR CITY CRAFTER CHALLENGE BLOG

Thought I would give you a little peak of my craft room, it is nothing to be proud of, poorly laid out and very cramped. I am going to be doing a complete makeover but it has to wait its turn, there are 3 bedrooms and 2 baths that are in line before it. We had this house built 10 years ago in August, and after my husband passed away in 2006 I haven't done much to it so I thought it was time for me to get into it again. Here are some pictures, hope it won't be to long before I can post the make over pictures.

this is as you enter my craft room from the hallway right off the foyer

This picture is taken inside my craft room facing the doors entering

right inside the door is my small table that I cut paste embellish

after that is my table where I do my die cuts and on the bottom  shelves is where I store some of my dies, next is my sewing maching which holds my ink caddy and various other things when my machine is not out.

along another wall is two large hutches, one holds embellishments the holds papers, in the middle is my computer, printers and cricut plus other stuff I don't have room for.

the next wall holds a four drawer filing cabinet that I store my nestabilities, spellbinders , stamps and a few misc. items in

with the doors closed I store punches on the back of one and ribbons on the back of the other.
As you can see it is not very functionalbe. My intentions are to have builtins and a window seat for storeage.  I always think if you can't see the stuff setting around its not messy.

Coffee Filter Flowers

I love to make flowers to use on my cards and home decor etc.  I love the tissue papers for my cards, they are so delicate and soft looking, but I found that when I would glimmer mist them or try to stamp on them I ended up tearing a bunch of them (I'm probably the only one with that problem) but it was still a problem for me.  I got to thinking and thought hey coffee filters get wet and hold up so what do I have to loose?  I used my sixxix to cut out the flowers, I found it was easier than punching them, if you do punch them you should put a regular sheet of paper behind it to give the punch something to grab on to.  Anyway I tried glimmer misting them and stamping on them and even chalked them and they held up really well.  Here is a card using the coffee filters.

Here is a close up of the flowers, leave me a me a comment and let me know what you think.  Give it a try and see how they turn out for you.

This weeks challenge at The Shabby Tea Room is all about summer. What says summer better than a day at the beach? (well maybe a picnic) but I did my card on the beach theme.

Venice, beyond Gondola

Happy Tuesday, it's time again for a new challenge from The City Crafter Challenge Blog. This weeks theme is Venice, beyond Gondola . There were a couple of choices to choose from, I chose to do the music note paper and theme.

I embossed my background on white cardstcock with music score paper.

I used green cardstock to make my flower and added a couple of stick pins.

I then added a small message on a heart and used glitter glue to glitz it up a little.

Please check back in a day or so, I have a card to post using coffee filters to make flowers.  Thanks and be sure to visit often.
